Early Learning Initiative - Financial Literacy Programme

We are the National College of Ireland’s Early Learning Initiative and we were developed to address educational disadvantage in marginalised communities through an integrated programme of activities, training and support for children, parents and educators.

Your support for our Early Learning Initiative - Financial Literacy Programme, will allow us to adapt and implement our successful primary school literacy programme to four more after-school clubs within our disadvantaged communities in inner city Dublin.

The funding will allow us to reach around 412 children aged 4 – 12 to help those who are the furthest behind in mathematics. (Research shows that those children who are the last to advance in their class remain so throughout their schooling and beyond, with their parents lacking the knowledge to help them.) After-school clubs are safe places where participation in after-school programmes can make a huge difference in academic and social achievements, as well as providing health benefits.
