Innovate Dublin

Youth Academy Enterprise Programme in Design Thinking and Project Management Skills

Innovate Dublin is a social enterprise committed to social innovation for community regeneration by sourcing new solutions to unmet social needs. Our Social Innovation Hub in Ballymun is devoted to developing start-up businesses and providing them with a high level of support.

The project that we have secured funding for is our Youth Academy Enterprise Programme in Design Thinking and Project Management Skills. This will provide a 12-week training programme for local unemployed young people. It will focus on capacity development in a creative way using a design-thinking approach and will support participants towards self-employment.

Receiving this funding will allow us to run the programme which was successfully piloted last year. In total, 15 marginalised local unemployed people aged between 18 and 24 will participate. It will also allow us to embed the programme locally while we develop a financial model that will ensure we can replicate it on an annual basis locally and across other disadvantaged communities.
